E-books cannot be opened in Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.12 on the new PC

I cannot get Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.12 to work on my new PC.

• I have confirmed that the Adobe Digital Editions version on my new PC (4.5.12) is the same as on my old PC.

• I successfully signed in to my Adobe ID on Adobe Digital Editions on the new PC.

• The e-books (in .epub format) were copied from my old PC (file path: C:\Users\[my name]\Documents\My Digital Editions\) to the same path in new PC.

Please advise!!
