On my e-Reader (Poketbook touch lux) is adobe digital editions allready installed, so I should be able to activate my books on the reader. When I open the acsm file it tells me that I have to activate my book. So I enter my Adobe ID and Password. Then he works a few moments and shows me this error:
Does anyone know what I can do to be able avtivate my books on the e-reader?
Regards

I can't see much about this error on the web:
one comment is at http://www.topreviewshop.com/nextbook_next2_tablet_e_reader_conclusion
Just a thought, ADE and some ereader devices/apps do not like passwords that include special characters.
If you have anything other than non-accented letters and numbers in your password,
log in at the Adobe website and change the password to a weaker one.
Then try again to activate.

Most Adobe DRM books use your Adobe ID for authorization, but some use vendor IDs.
Usually you get a reasonably sensible message out of ADE if you need a vendor ID, but maybe not always.
You could check with the vendor if you need a special ID.
For example I just read that for B&N books:
ADE 2.0 finally added support for the B&N DRM.
The unlock code are the credit card number and name of the default credit card of your B&N account.

It still doesn't work with change of password.
It's a brand new Pocket Book Touch Lux 3

Has anyone found a suitable solution for this issue? Now more than 10 years later, still having the same issue. On my Pocketbook e-reader, i am trying to activate Adobe DRM, and when i enter my Adobe ID and password, i am getting the following error message: 'Activation was failed (E_STREAM_ERROR: CURL returned 60 (3C)).' Any further suggestions? Thank you.

I have the very same problem 😞
In some other thread I read that this may be due to Adobe servers being overloaded.

Here I am with my new brand Pocketbook Verse Pro Color and I have the same problem while trying to log in Adobe DRM.
Anyone could solve the problem? I guess is more a Pocketbook issue than an adobe one...
This sucks!

According to Pocketbook support there is an issue with the Adobe servers currently being overloaded. Not so sure if this is correct. A few years back the same error occured because of a certificate which hasn't gotten renewed.
Anyway, same problem, with my new Pocketbook Era and I would really love a solution as well.

Had the same issue with my Pocketbook device. Seems to work now. At least it did for me and some other people in another community.

Update on my problem above, looks like it was resolved, as per other replies, thank you.
So now my Adobe account got added successfully in my Pocketbook (model PB632). However, when trying to open books (epub format) which i get from the library, i'm getting 'Unable to open book. This book is possibly damaged or under copyright protection'. Now the same ebook opens fine on the computer with Adobe Digital Editions. Tried with several books, always the same error message. Anyone else with the same issue? Thanks.

Update on my last post. The version of Adobe Digital Editions i was using was 4.5.11. I then upgraded to 4.5.12 and that made it work, so sharing in case it could benefit someone. At Iast, can read my ebooks in epub format from the library on an e-reader, it was quite the Odyssey! Thanks all for being part of the journey.
