hello everyone
I have just recently started using archive.org to lend out some books that I have had a hard time finding. I also have downloaded Adobe digital Editions to read some of the books on my computer. However I have noticed something very strange when I download a book in pdf format to open with Adobe digital Editions I noticed that the images were not a clear as when opening the book straight from Archive.corg. I downloaded the book in pdf format and epub. The images in pdf format are not as clear as on archive .org and the images in epub are as clear as archive .org however the book is not displayed as well.
May you please tell me why this is happening and how I can get my ebooks to open up in Adobe digital Editions with the same quality as Archive.org
I have also attachd a screen shots of the pdf ebook opened up with Adobe digital Editions as opposed to the same ebook opened up streaight frrom Archive.org. as you can see Archive.org displays the images clearer.
Thanks

I've had the same problem with Archive.org books when downloading them as PDFs. I didn't get an answer either
Ebook images and text far too compressed in ADE
As you can see, Archive.org says it's not at their end. It's be interesting to know if others have had this awful over-compression problem in ADE with ebooks downloaded from other websites? I think the problem began for me when I updated to the then-latest version of ADE (this is exactly the reason why I am wary of software updates in general; sigh). ISTR it wasn't there when I opened books in an eatlier version. But I haven't yet found an older version to roll back to to check, either 😕 Sorry this is not of much help, but here's hoping this bump to the thread will finally get us noticed and perhaps even get answers.

This may be way too late but I'm seeing the same thing in my ADE books downloaded from el croquis and viewed on iPad. In fact, when I open a book the page that open does not display. If I zoom in I see the image but it is super compressed and the text is hardly legible, almost outlined. If I zoom back on the first page, it disappears. If I travel to the next page it render perfectly....until I zoom in at which time the book is super compressed again and hardly legible. If I travelf further into the book the compression gets worse, even on page that are not zoomed. Basically, I cannot read books on mobile devices using ADE. What's the point, then?
