i legally bought books and i can't open them . message: there was an error opening this document the security plug in required. How to solve this problem?

Sorry the error message was : there was an error opening this document the security plug in required by this command is unavailable... i unticked the choice enable protected mode at startup, but the problem remains...Please help me
