Error: Unable to download E_ACT_NOT_READY

I've recently purchased a book from the Sainsbury's ebook store and downloaded an ACSM file for it.

When I drag the file in to digital editions I get the following error:

Unable to download

Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:

E_ACT_NOT_READY

I have a working and up-to-date adobe ID, the latest version of digital editions: 4.5.126234

And am on version 10.11.1 of Mac OS X.

Anyone any clues as to how I get to read my book?

Phil

Thank you for the advice...

I was getting on okay with it, but when I try and erase the authorisation it says I can't as I am getting the password wrong.

I have double checked the password and I am using the correct one.

I have tried removing digital editions from my mac and reinstalling it, but it still seems to be connected to my adobe ID with a wrong password.

Is there a way of deleting Digital Editions and installing it again - and for it to forget any previous authorisations?

Fingers crossed you can help.

Phil

LATEST
  1. quit Adobe Digital Editions.
  2. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
If you are using 10.7, see Access hidden library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later.
  3. Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.
