I am having exactly the same problem.  I have used Digital Editions and my Kobo in the past with success.  The book file has been successfully copied into Digital Editions on my Mac, but when I attempt to drag and drop the book onto my Kobo icon, I get the "no permission to copy the book" message.

Frustrating
