The DRM that is used on Adobe Digital Editions ebooks prevents them from being converted into a format that is recognizable by the Kindle e-ink devices. If you get a book from a DRM-free source like Freeding (check your local public library - it is a service that many provide for free) you can get books that have no DRM through Digital Editions and then convert them to a format that can be read on the Kindle e-ink devices, but other than that you must use a device that supports either the Adobe software or app required to access books with Adobe Digital Editions DRM encoding.
