Mac to Nook Simple Touch Trouble with Ebook Transfer

New Here ,
Jan 13, 2014 Jan 13, 2014

I am having difficulty with transferring my books from ADE to my Simple Touch.  I have an ID.  The Nook is authorized.  It transfers but I receive an error message when I try to read it in my Nook:  "User Not Activated"  I have tried to erase the ADE folders etc as other threads have suggested.  Because I have a Mac, I wonder if I have inivisible folders that I am missing?  Or is there a different solution?  I just want to get ebooks from my public library.  It is the reason we got the Nook.

It may be worth just deactivating (cmd-shift-E to ADE with the Nook plugged in) and reactivating the Nook.

If you do need to resort to deleting the Adobe files/folders from the Nook ...

You need to set the Mac Finder so that it can see hidden files and folders.

There may well be a hidden folder with a name like '.adobedigitaleditions'

If those fail, backup any files from the Nook, try a Factory reset, and reauthorize it.

Thank you. I did both of those things and the deleting of the hidden files

was what worked. Thanks!
