Hello,

My Digital Editions has been running great for years (even across migrations from one PC to another), then suddenly yesterday I could not download any new DRM protected EPUB or PDF files.

I was running Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.2.1131

Every time I would get errors like:

        Europe_at_War_1939_1945:

        IO Error on Network Request.

        Please check your network connection and try again.

        Network Path:

        https://books.google.com.au/books/download/Europe_at_War_1939_1945.epub?acsid=urn:uuid:xxxxxxx-xxxx-...

        Event Detail:

        Error #2038

        --- end ---

So I upgraded to Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.3.117585

Still can't download any DRM protected books, but now I get a simple:

        "Error! Check Activation"

I have been activated the whole time on both versions.

Please.............. what's wrong?

2. Deauthorize ADE [Keyboard shortcut "ctrl+shift+d" for windows or "cmd+shift+d" for mac]

3. Install ADE 4.0.3.117585.

4. Now again AUTHORIZE ADE, Help-> authorize computer.

Hope this works !!

For this problem, you need to deauthorize and authorize ADE again.

Launch ADE

Help -> Erase authorization.

ADE will be deauhorized.

Now again AUTHORIZE ADE

Help-> authorize computer.

Error will be fixed !!

Thanks for your suggestion.

I tried what you suggested. When I de-authorise, I receive:

"Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try after some time."

Now, I did try de-authorising yesterday, numerous times, when I was uninstalling  1.7.2.1131  and installing  4.0.3.117585.

I got the same error then.... at 1.7.2.1131  and  4.0.3.117585.

So this does not look good.

Nevertheless, I will try every now and then for a while, and get back to you.

OK I will try a reinstall of ADE 1.7 later tonight, and then as you said.

I report back.
