Currently in ADE 4.5, web links in the eBook open in Internet Explorer.

Is there any way to have them open in the default browser (such as Chrome or Firefox)?

Thank you for your assistance!

Digital Edition has no own setting for open Link. It should used the same how your system. Do you have the same problem with another eBook?

Yes, it is the same in several eBooks. All links open in IE instead of the default browser.

It is quite a problem for us since the links are to HTML5 presentations that do not playback in IE.

Yes, IE is not set as the default browser. In fact, all web links (other than the ones in the eBooks) open in Chrome on my PC.

Not sure why ADE prefers to open them in IE! 🙂

ADE uses IE as the rendering engine, that's the reason it opens in IE.

Oh dear! Any possibility of tweaking it in the next release to make web links open in the user's default browser?

Much appreciate shedding light on this!

This rendering is only for EPUB3 books, for EPUB2 or PDF it will open in default browser.

Well, all our eBooks are EPUB3 and there are a few hundred that we have produced at our University.

Would you consider providing the same rendering for EPUB3 as well?

I have the same issue. Is there any solution for that? I DON'T want ADE to open links via IE instead of Chrome!

Hi Team,

Thank you for your assistance!

Any update on this to open in default browser?

Still, we have found same now.

Currently using ADE 4.5.11 version, same issues in web links in the eBook open in Internet Explorer.

Is there are any way to have them open in the default browser (such as Chrome or Firefox)?

Note: No issues found in ADE 2.0 and 3.0 version using EPUB3 file, but this only issues in ADE 4.5 version.

Thanks,

Prithiviraj M

Same issue, here ... and IE can't even display some of the sites that links in the EPUB files go to, requiring the manual copy-paste of the URL.
