reset or deactivate a previous computer authorized

New Here ,

Hi there,

The laptop i was using ADE on crashed on me. I have now installed ADE on my new laptop, but when i try to authorize this machine, i get the error

"You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Please try again."

Can someone please help reset or deactivate the earlier computer i authorized? Or suggest an alternative resolution? Thanks very much.

What about on a mac? I have version 3.0 because later editions don't work on my computer (apparently this is a common thing).
