Thought I cancelled membership, but still receive update notifications. HELP!

I supposedly cancelled my Creative Cloud service (even though I can still sign in to my account), and deleted all of my CC/Photoshop apps from my MAC.

Today, the Adobe "A" icon just popped up on my top menu bar, as it usually does when an update is available.

I can't get rid of the icon until I go ahead with the update, but I cancelled my membership and I deleted the CC apps (and no, I don't want to keep using CC). This was a monthly subscription that I haven't been paying for since I cancelled, so I don't understand why I'm still receiving these notifications. It's virtually impossible to get in touch with Adobe directly, so this forum is my only hope. Can anyone help?
