trying to print my ebook from Adoble Digital Editions - the print button is grayed out - help

I am a first-time user with Adobe Digital Editions. I downloaded an e-book, and it will let me view it in "read mode," but when I try to print it, the print button is grayed out, not allowing me to select print. I then tried copying the text and pasting it in a Word document, and it will not allow that either. I have already registered my computer with the Adobe program - is printing now allowed or something? Thank you for any help you can give me!

Go to the Library mode of ADE by clicking Library button.
Select the book you like to print
Right on the book and select Item Info

Verify the book has the print permission.
