When I try to authorize the adobe digital edition that I downloaded it tells me that I am not connected to the internet even though I am.

I purchased some CEU courses from humankinetics.com and I was trying to download the course information. It said I had to download Adobe digital edition to read the ebooks associated with my courses. I downloaded it and I was trying to authorize it so I could run it and for some reason whether I use an Adobe ID or not it keeps telling me that I am not connected to the internet. I have checked and rechecked my connection and it is fine. Is there any way around this?
