Note I previously had this with 1.8 preview 4.  some others also reported it.

Attempts to authorize computer fail.  Note I now have 1.8 and 1.7 uninstalled.

When clicking on autorize computer shows

adobe auth 1.png

click continue and fill out the next screen with adobeid and password (sameone I use to login to this forum)

CORRECTION TO MY PREVIOUS POST

Just finished with Adobe support. They had me launch ade and then hit control+SHIFT D. This then asked me if I wanted to delete authorization on this computer. After I said yes, when I went back to authorize it accepted my id and password and authorized my computer. I think he said control+shift S would work for a device attached, but haven't tried that yet.

I am getting the same error message.  I just spoke to online support.  I was told this is a technical issue and given a phone number to ring to get the problem fixed.  I am unable to use the number as I get an unable to connect.  I am now not sure what to do either.  Can someone help please.

Here is what I got back

Re: Can't copy saved book to E-reader??!!

created by Frustrated in AZ in Adobe Digital Editions - View the full discussion

The whole ebook thing can be complicated by the technology. It's supposed

to be simple, and lots of us think it's just plug and play - but it's not,

because each device or program suite has requirements.....

The salesman at Best Buy is correct. Nooks do read epub formats, so that

part should work - when we get there. We have a few steps left.

When you downloaded 'ADR', I assume you meant Adobe Digital Editions

(ADE). I can assume from what you wrote that you are able to get ADE to

'see' the Nook and display it on the ADE bookshelf in Library mode [on the

left hand side of the panel]. You need to go to the B&N website and

register the Nook with them. You do that by attaching the Nook to your PC,

making sure that its screen tells you it's attached, and then going to

B&N. Use the Adobe ID you used when you purchased that ebook for your

son. That will simplify things immensely. When you're done, and logged

off the B&N website, you can open ADE, and make sure that it recognizes the

Nook again. At this point, you should be ready to do the transfer.
