ADE crashed and now will not accept my username/password

I have been using ADE for sometime for a couple of textbooks. When I installed it a few months ago I was able to authorize my computer it with my Adobe ID and download the books.
This morning, however, the software crashed. It completely locked up, and I had to kill the process in Task Manager. 

Now, when I open it, it says it is no longer authorized. I have tried reauthorizing with my username and password to no avail. 

I can confirm that the username/password IS correct. The password does not contain anything other than letters and numbers. 

As the ebooks are already authorized, I cannot access them until I can get ADE to accept my login.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
