I have downloaded Adobe Digital Edition 4.0 and Help->Authorization Information says my computer is Authorized.

When when I try to download a book and open it the system gives me this Window:Error! Check Activation.

What shall I do in order to make the system running?...

Grateful for answers! Thank you!

hi

you can try the following steps:

Mac OS

  1. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
  2. Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.
Windows

  1. Choose Start > Run.
  2. In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.
  3. In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:
  4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept
  5. Select the Adept key.
  6. Choose File > Export.
  7. In the Export Registry File dialog box, select Selected Branch under Export Range. Enter a name and location for the backup registry key, and then click Save.
  8. Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.
  9. In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.
  10. Close the Registry Editor.
  11. Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.

Thanks for this help, also could not deauthorise without this advice now working fine again. What I would like to add which may help someone else in future is that I think the reason this happened in my case is that I altered the user details on my computer. I changed my user type from my Microsoft account to being a local user and it appears that the authorisation information is sensitive to this.

Thanks again for the help, just shows how advice given years ago continues to help in the now present!
