How do I erase authorisation on Mac when password not accepted?

Hi, My mac is linked to an old ADE ID I had but when I click on erase authorisation is asks for the password. I enter this and it comes up with a message saying that this is incorrect. I know it is correct. I have spoken with support and they say that there is no such ID on their system so they cannot reset the password (or help me). But now my computer is automatically linked to an old ID and I cannot authorise to a new ID (which my Kobo is linked to). Any suggestions on how I can get my Kobo and Mac authorised to each other on the same ID would be appreciated! Thanks
