Follow below steps:
For this problem, you need to deauthorize and authorize ADE again.
Help -> Erase authorization.
ADE will be deauhorized.
Now again AUTHORIZE ADE
Help-> authorize computer.

I have this problem also, but when I enter my password to deauthorize it says "Unable to Erase Authorization. Please Try After Some Time."
I had this prob on 4.0 and just installed 4.5.

I am finding the same problem and I just installed 4.5 but still the same problem.
Initially "License key is damaged" and then I tried applying erase authorization where it shows "Unable to erase authorisation, please try after some time"
Get you the error when you try to open the eBook or authorize Digital Edition?
When loading eBook it responses error as "License Key is damaged".

I have... all books are dead. I even tried reinstalling to an updated version 4.5 but no avail.
4. I found Adept subfolder in Adobe folder in the Registry Editor where there is file named "key". Is it same as Adept key?
7. Where exactly should this key be saved? I saved in the folder of digital editions.
Tried to reauthorise by erasing authorisation which hasn't worked yet.
The adept key is the complete folder. You remove the complete adept folder.
the place for the saving are not important. You can choose a place how want it.

This doesn't seem to work. I just go in circles deauthorizing, reauthorizing, vender id problem.
