In Adobe Digital Editions, why can I no longer copy text and paste into another document? I was able to a minute ago...

I've tried closing and re-opening. I am able to highlight the text and make notes but the copy function is no longer functioning.

I need to be able to copy and paste information for research purposes.

I am having the exact same issue with books on ADE. Minute ago all was fine, copy function worked properly and now it does not anymore. Please finally answer what is wrong with the program, is there some kind of fix or an update?
