I am trying to authorize my laptop here to download an ebook I have recently purchased. I have installed ADE and when I double-click on the acsm file, it opens with the authorization dialogue. I select Adobe ID and fill in my login data - my email_address and password which I can use to log in to this website - and I invariably get the message "Anmelde-ID/ Kennwort für ausgewählten ebook-Anbieter ist falsch. Erneut versuchen." ("ID or passphrase wrong for selected ebook supplier. Try again.")
I have tried quite a number of times now.
I have no idea what could be wrong there. Can you help me please?
Thanks a lot!
Reset the password and used letters and numbers. No umlauts and special characters.
The authorization process now completed successfully.
However, every time I double-click on the acsm file to download the ebook, I get the message "Download failed. License SERVER COMMUNICATION ERROR. E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED"
It happened yesterday and I thought it might be a temporary problem, but now it happens again - and again ...
Can you offer me any help on this, too, please?
Thanks a lot!
I solved that problem myself.
I just searched for the error_message and found that it can happen if an ebook is not downloaded within a certain timeframe - so I deleted it, logged in to the WebSite where I bought it and downloaded it again. Upon immediately double-clicking it to download, it worked nicely. By right-clicking and viewing the book in the Explorer I was now able to move it to my own storage so I can now transfer it to my eReader.
Thanks a lot once again!
I've just tried this solution but failed. Has something changed regarding the password (that it be letters and numbers only)?
I have a similar problem, but this time with the vendor . The one is buy most books from is not listed and why is it madatory in the first place? On my previous computer ADE worked just fine regardless where I got the book.
Never mind, for mysterious reasons adobe now doesn't require a vendor id anymore.
