I am using Adobe Digital Editions (ver 4.5.1). Whenever an .acsm file is added to the library, the application constantly freezes upon freezing. After killing the process in Task Manager and re-opening, the application works normally until interacting with an .acsm file.
Opening/interacting on .epub files work normally, the freezing only occurs with .acsm files.
I attempted to use an older version of Adobe DE (3.0). Again .epub files functioned normally. But opening .acsm files produced an Activation Server error (code: E_ADEPT_INTERNAL).
I'm not exactly sure what the error is referring to, or how to go about rectifying is. Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated
Has you try a ebook for a other place? Or only eBooks of the Library?
The ebooks causing the issue in question are being uploaded from Overdrive
If by local, you mean saving the book to the local hard drive and opening it from there, then yes that was attempted already (did not work)
I am about to take this computer back for the same reason
That site did not work, the ACSM files that I were able to pull from there gave me a failed activation error
This is absolutely insane! The Adobe customer support team does not know how to solve this problem!!!!!
I chatted online, I was transferred to a "specialist" and after 2 more communications by email I was told "we do not support digital edition" !!! And now in the forum apparently nobody knows either.
