The email address I used when I first started with Digital Editions is long, long gone: together with it's password. but it is now proving impossible to authorise my KOBO

Adobe know my current email address, no matter how many times (as advised by Adobe web chat support) I uninstall and reinstall it still defaults to the long defunct email and requests a now non-existent password. My normal adobe account has the correct address, and yet the Digital Editions element still shows the defunct email and requests the "dead password", (and there is not even a "forgotten password" facility), it just continues to say I am not authorised . What a total load of utter rubbish
