I cannot read books transferred from my computer to nook Color model 'BNRV200'. I receive message 'user not activated' on Nook. I have tried deleting '.adobe-digital-editions' and 'Digital Editions' files from my Nook and having Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 [ADE] from my computer reinstall them onto my Nook. This does not work. Could anyone help please?

Additional steps taken to remove error 'Loan token not found' on Nook:

  • Removed again '.adobe-digital-editions' and ’Digital Editions' files from Nook. And disconnected Nook from AUS.
  • Opened ADE 3.0 on ASUS
  • Even though the ADE shows that ASUS is an authorized device, it is I believe showing the authorization related to ADE 4.5.9. Therefore, erased authorization of ADE 3.0. Closed application.
  • Opened ADE 3.0 after 15 seconds and reauthorized ADE 3.0.
  • Connected Nook to ASUS.
  • Authorized Nook on ADE

You must authorize ADE and the Reader with the same Adobe ID BEFORE you open any eBook.

If have you open a eBook without authorize can you only read the eBook on this one device.

The error of 'User not activated' has now turned into 'Loan token not found'.

Computer OS: windows 10, version 1803

Computer:          ASUS Ultrabook

Adobe Digital Edition:     4.5.9

e-reader:             NOOK Color

Nook Model:      BNRV200

Steps taken to remove error 'User not activated' on Nook

  • Made sure my user ID for both ASUS and Nook are the same
  • Deregistered and reregistered my Nook via Barnes and Noble
  • Removed '.adobe-digital-editions' and  'Digital Editions' files from Nook.
  • Erased authorization on ADE and reauthorized ASUS
  • Had ADE 4.5 from ASUS reinstall '.adobe-digital-editions' and  'Digital Editions' files on Nook.
  • Reauthorized my Nook.
  • Transferred books from ADE to Nook.

This process has removed the error of 'User not activated' on Nook.

However, I still cannot open the books. The new error message on Nook is 'Loan token not found".

Steps taken to remove error 'Loan token not found' on Nook

  • Removed ADE 4.5.9 from ASUS and loaded ADE 3.0 as the forum members suggested at 'https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1844501' and transferred books via ADE 3.0 on Nook.
  • Authorized ASUS via ADE 3.0
  • Removed '.adobe-digital-editions' and  'Digital Editions' files from Nook.
  • Authorized Nook via ADE 3.0
  • Had ADE 3.0 from ASUS reinstall '.adobe-digital-editions' and  'Digital Editions' files on Nook.
  • Transferred books from ADE to Nook.

No success. The error message on Nook is still 'Loan token not found'.

I would prefer to keep ADE 4.5 working for both ASUS and Nook unless there is no choice.
