Why can't I authorize ADE after logging in with Adobe ID on another device?

When I installed Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.8, it didn't prompt for authorization (maybe too many people complained in this forum that they didn't like this prompt...?). Using DRM for the first time, I downloaded an acsm from an ebook-store and converted it to epub. After transferring it to my ebook reader, the reader asked for my Adobe-ID which I then created. But obviously, this ID was not allowed to show the epub since it was created with an "anonymous" ADE.

I now found "Authorize Computer" in the "Help" menu (WHY THERE?), but since I had logged on with the ID on another device, I cannot authorize the computer any more. Is there a possibility to still authorize this computer?

It's really annoying that people trying to act honestly are prevented from doing so...
