Background Image not showing

I normally have no issue finding solutions to problems in DN but this one is totally stumping me. I drop a library item into the background and it ACTS like its importing, showing up in properties, I can turn it on and off but its simply NOT THERE. I cant see it in the view on any of the cameras or environment. I see it in the lights background as the source of light, but its not in the edit or render. Makes no sense.

Can you share a screenshot of workspace. Do I understand right that you import 3D object from Assets Library not an image(jpg, etc) as background image?

I am having exactly the same issue with dropping a background image into a file. Its in the properties box but will not show up in the edit or render. I went back to the previous verions and everything is normal. Something about the new update is really not working.
