Dimension doesn't start up

When I start Dimension it doesn't work. I just can see the splash screen and that's it.

Only version 1.0 is working but it has a lot of other issues.

that a ten years out of date Mac runs even version 1 is impressive... the card is nice so this system would be ok as a cheap video editing rig* but the chip isn't up to rendor

Hi Ussnorway,

this year I made some hardware upgrades to my machine and it runs fine just as a new computer would run. All Adobe apps run fine (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop..). I also use Cinema 4D which runs very well. Only Dimension has issues.

By the way:

I tested Dimension on the same machine with 2 different OS (Sierra, High Sierra) and also on a virutal machine. (Virtual Box: Windows 10) with the same result.

he doesn't have a bug the system requirments are very clear & his cpu is to old...

I have a later CPU than the original: It's a X5690 which is from the year 2011.

Anyway I don't get the concept of Dimension.

It is suppose to be a render engine for 2D graphic designers who usually don't have a computer as good as 3D desingers.

I never had a problem with Cinema 4D using the old CPU or my upgraded from 2011.

I have several softwares that need a lot of CPU power.

Only Dimension seems to have a problem with that.

Adobe posted in 2018 that they will remove that blocking factor:

Adobe Dimension won't open

That's more than a year ago.

And I'm sure that you will understand that I will not spend money on a new computer for Dimension since I already spent more than 1.000 $ for the X5690.

i understand your pain mate... i have flagged this post for the team to look at in case I'm wrong but my understanding is the X5690 (tech a 2011 yes but really an older chip sold as a budget option to use up spare stock) will not run it because AVX2 requirement never made it before the chip was dropped by Intel

Sorry to hear about Dimension not going past the splash screen, this is a known issue and we're tracking it here: Stuck on Start Screen – Adobe Dimension Feedback Portal

Could you please add your vote to the above thread?

Also, Dimension does not work for Macs using some older video cards that do not support AVX or AVX 2 instruction sets.

now it's December and Dimension is still not working. I looked at the thread and it seems the same problem exists since 2016. There is a comunity using the old "cheesgrader" Mac Pro because it's reliable and can still be upgraded to date. I have no problem with any software whatsoever but Dimension. Latest version of Cinema 4d, Davinci Resolve, After Effects, Premiere,...

Is there any chance that Adobe will fix the problem with those Mac Pros?

I will definatly not buy a new Mac Pro which starts at $6.000 only to run Dimension

Now I am running into another issue. Adobe blocked the usage of older Software from CC. Only the first version of Dimension runs on my Computer. It was deleted when I updated for the new one. How can I get it back? Thanks.

In my imac iMac 2019 can't open dimension 3.4.3 (since version 3.0). The only software doesn't open get stuck on first page. I talked with Adobe support so many times that I lost hope on Dimension.
