How do I perfectly align a decal/graphic to a 3D object?

I am very lost on how to do this.

For example, I'm trying to render some business cards with a graphic i've designed, but the decal is either too long or wide. Scaling the graphic or 3D model just skews the dimensions that I designed.

There must be a better way to do this, right?

step 1 = show us the decal design, obj and layout otherwise we have not way to tell what you are trying to do or what the problem may be

how = upload the Dn file with the separate decal image (best results) or at least take a few screenshots that have the issue marked in some clear way

Do you know how to select the decal after it is placed using the scene panel? Double click on the object until just the decal is selected. Then you can proportionally scale just the decal by holding down the shift key while you scale it. You can also check the properties panel for the scale dimensions. Make sure the height and width are equal.
