How to scale placed instances

When I copy and "paste as instance", I can change the material, decal, etc of one object and all instances will reflect the change. If I resize or scale the object, the instances do not change, only the one selected object changes.

 

I have 64 placed instances. I want to make each one smaller in the "x" dimension only while keeping them all in the same postion.

 

Is this possible?

As they have seperate layers in scene - they have to be selected at same time. You can also create a group in Scene panel and relocate them in it. If you select group layer you can resize them at once.

In your example, If you scale the two bottles on the x-axis (red), the distance between the bottles and their position on the ground will change.

 

Here's a simlified illustration of what I'm trying to do:

Make all three food pouche instances "skinnier" while keeping them on their cubes.
