macOS Catalina with eGPU - dimension does not meet minimum OpenGL version

I just installed the latest version of Dimension (Adobe Dimension Version 3.4.0, Build 3.4-20200908.r.2791-611127e) on my Mac Mini 2018.

This mac runs Catalina 10.15.7 on an integrated iGPU - Intel 630 1.5G and an external eGPU - AMD Radeon Pro 580. Both features OpenGL 4.1 engine, according to GLView.

However Dimension don't beleive the same, and refuse to launch "Does not meet minimum OpenGL version"

I disabled SideCar as instructed in the forums, no luck.

I see in the logs, just that my AMD eGPU is not detected... copied below.

Any advise?

thanks for the quick feedback, in the mean time I found a solution that worked for me:

I went to the application folder, open the "Get Info" window from the finder, and checked that "Prefer External GPU" option. Et Voila, dimension finaly opens !!!!

I just wonder why there is just no mention of this solution in the FAQ or support....

No that is correct and using a eGpu doesn't meat the minimum standard because you also need software that understands what a eGpu is... Which Adobe doesn't have at this point

A Windows laptop or desktop will easily fix this issue with out busting your bank account or just wait until Apple and Adobe get around to it... Sorry but that's the bottom line
