Hi,

We are getting the below console errors while using the PDF Embed API in IE11 and Firefox,

IE11Unhandled promise rejection ReferenceError: 'TextDecoder' is undefined

FirefoxContent Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at inline (“script-src”).

These errors can be seen on adobe's demo page too- https://documentcloud.adobe.com/view-sdk-demo/index.html#/view/FULL_WINDOW/Bodea%20Brochure.pdf

Please suggest if there is a fix for this.

Thanks in advance!

There are two issues here. IE 11 is not a supported browser. Supported browsers are as follows.

Supported browsers

PDF Embed API is supported on the latest versions of all modern browsers.

  • Windows - Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox.

  • macOS - Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox.

  • Android - Google Chrome.

  • iOS - Safari, Google Chrome.

The Firefox issue is as described by the error, the page that Embed API is trying to load into is blocking the script.

There's something about your site that is blocking the .js from loading. I have no way to diagnose what that might be.

This is happening in the adobe demo site, https://documentcloud.adobe.com/view-sdk-demo/index.html#/view/FULL_WINDOW/Bodea%20Brochure.pdf

You should be able to debug it there.

I'm not seeing the error in Firefox. It might be your domain might be blocking it from there.

This is the adobe domain where we are validating.  https://documentcloud.adobe.com/view-sdk-demo/index.html#/view/FULL_WINDOW/Bodea%20Brochure.pdf

I checked in multiple devices and networks (including public networks) and I can see the errors in all scenarios.
