Document Generation API is not processing {%  %} tags.

And it leaves those tags in the output PDF (i.e. it considers them part of the document).

Yet the samples ran OK.

I think I figured it out with trial and error. What I didn't realise is the document I was given as the basis of a template had tables in it already (just with borders invisible. So I had put conditional section tags within table cells without realising.

My conclusion is that if you have conditional section tags within a table, they will not be processed. Which is kinda annoying. Can someone else give it a go and confirm my conclusion?

David.

I believe that has already been documented as a bug and we're working on it.
