Good morning,

I'd like to start by saying that I love your product and have been involved with Aldus/Adobe products for well over 20 years in end use, but advocating for it's use in my industry.

That's why I am so inclined to discuss this matter.

We maintain 2 CC licenses in my business. 1 is pre-paid yearly the other paid monthly. I did recently add a Adobe Stock account as well.

I was told in an email "which started by saying "Thanks for your time on the call today." (which by the way had never taken place) that my accounts were being "consolidated" for easier management. The email then went on to say that for this convenience I would only be charged $70.00 more per month than I was currently paying.

GEE THANKS!

I immediately replied to the adobe email address (contact info below). Stating that I had not authorized any changes to my account and to cease making any changes. Withing minutes of sending that email, Mr. Kumar called. I started questioning him on the changes. He began telling me account information that only Adobe should have, including billing dates, CC billing info, etc. He knew how long I was a client. I decided to delve a little deeper into the situation. Initially he had told me that Any pre-paid balances would be refunded, but then said that no, I was being billed monthly for both accounts. I confirmed this morning that no, I am not being billed monthly on the one account.

So this morning I sent him another email stating that he is not to make any changes to my account.

My questions are as follows:

  1. Was this a legitimate call?
  2. If it was legitimate, what the heck is going on here?
  3. It it is not legitimate, why is this scammer using an Adobe email address?

This also came up last year. The tactics seemed heavy handed and misinformed if not outright dishonest by the sales people.

I suppose that someone want's to sell you a teams license. Indeed is a teams license a good thing, because of the additional flexibility. But there is no need for one, when you are happy with your current licenses.

It's a small company and I have verified with everyone that no one has spoken with anyone from Adobe.

This happened to us too. We are a small creative company and Adobe has been calling for about 2 years. We keep telling them we aren't interested in Teams.   They are pretty aggressive, they say we must change and we tell them no.  This week we were switched without giving permission, and I am having a heck of a time getting it moved back.

This was the person who did it to us:

Again, he called, but no one spoke to him.

I want to help you to consolidate these licenses and put them under business plan so that your organization takes complete control over the license environment. It would make your work a lot easier with the collaboration feature and one single billing date for all of them.

The best part is there is no change in credentials, app usage and no downtime.

Let’s go ahead and consolidate all of them under a single account.

Looking forward for your response.

It has happened before. It'll probably happen again.

Individual vs Team for business use

Individual subscription not allowed to be used for commercial purposes?

I've no idea who is really behind it. It has been reported to Adobe and they claim to have investigated. But Adobe has never made it clear whether these calls are legitimate but their tactics are certainly tarnishing the brand.
