it's not clear what you mean by disable, but you must deactivate your preciously activated versions to restore the ability to activate.
to deactivate on a computer with an activated version , you must have an os and default browser that meets adobe's current security standards and then open an activated app > click help > click deactivate.
at this point, there's probably nothing you can do if you're unable to reactivate on a computer that recently had an activated version.

It's ok that my CS5.5 doesn't run under WIN11, but then I should at least have the option to reactivate my software on the older computers. Do you think that customers who have spent a lot of money will remain loyal to a premium provider that doesn't help them?

ok, as long as you have an activation available, we should be good to go.
first, if installation is a problem, use compatibility mode to install.
then, if activation is a problem, use offline activation.
disconnect the installed computer from the internet
Launch the product.
At the Serial Number Validation screen, click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet.
Click Offline Activation and click Generate a Response Code.
Write down the Request Code.
Switch to an online computer and navigate to www.adobe.com/go/getactivated.
Click Offline Activation.
Sign in with your Adobe ID.
Enter your Request code and click Generate.
Write down the Response code.
Switch back to the offline computer.
Enter the Response Code and click Activate.

I understand how frustrating this situation must be, and I appreciate your patience. Since Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 is an older product, activation and licensing issues can sometimes occur, especially on newer devices. Unfortunately, Adobe no longer supports CS5.5 activation, which may be causing these difficulties.
To avoid these activation roadblocks and ensure compatibility with modern hardware and operating systems, I’d highly recommend considering Adobe Creative Cloud. With Creative Cloud, you get the latest versions of your favorite Adobe apps, continuous updates, cloud storage, and the flexibility to install and use the software on multiple devices without activation issues.
If you’d like to explore your options, you can check out our plans here, or feel free to reach out to support for personalized assistance. Let me know if I can help further! 😊

Adobe no longer supports CS5.5 activation
By @Shivangi_Gupta
Does that mean that the activation servers have been shut down or does it mean that Adobe just won't provide help with activation issues?

@Peru Bob Since Creative Suite versions of Adobe applications are not manufactured any longer hence activation servers for Creative Suite are not supported anymore.
It is advised to use Creative Cloud for better performance and features.

the shuttering of cs5.5 activation servers would be a recent (ie, within the past few days - unlike the cs2, cs3 and cs4 servers) occurrence. are you certain this just occurred????

Sorry for any confusion; no changes have been made to the status of the activation servers. Please see https://adobe.ly/4aHGTE1 for information on how to manage any remaining activations for Creative Suite 5, 5.5, or 6. ^JW

From what I've read so far, I find Adobe's service very disappointing! I buy a piece of software for a lot of money, and then the manufacturer tries to sell an expensive product. I don't make any money from it. But why can I continue to download the software on my account?

Hi, i have the same problem:
I have deactived CS5.5 on my old laptop. Installed CS5.5 on my new laptop but activation is not possible because "the serial number" has already been acitvated 2 times".
So please Adobe, i want my money back or at least one year free cloud subscription. Very disappointing experience!

The same here CS6.0 activiation is not possible, bcause of to many activations ...
Support says that the product is on one device activated an can be activated on two devices. So that schould be no problem to activate the device. They can't do anything.
The device was already activated the activation with my key has gone today. Seems like someone has deleted the activation in adobes data.
The customer center show me non activated devices, so i'm not able to deactivate some device.
Thank You, Adobe!

if you're seeing an excess activation count message when trying to activate on a new computer, you have to use a computer that has (or had) an activation and deactivate it. that computer must have an updated browser and os security updates so it can communicate the local deactivation to adobe's servers.

I came from Macromedia with Studio MX Plus.
- Bought or got an Change (i don't know) to Master Collection CS4.0 because of the takeover by Adobe.
- Upgraded to CS5.0 in 2010
- Upgraded to CS5.5 in 2011
- Upgraded to CS6.0 in 2013
Costs of a few thousand euros, but this worked until today.
Over the time, I have successively installed the suite on several devices. So i had to go o the Adobe's Customer Account Login to deactivate the old devices. This works until now! By-the-way, i still can download the suites (5.0-6.0) and see the serial numbers of the suites (4.0-6.0).
There is no reason to not show the actual activations on the customer accounts site, unless Adobe wants to force-sell their abonnements to those people who don’t want any type of an abonnement. They decided to refuse the customers the ability to activate their products, that‘s all, nothing else.
The customer support says they can’t do anything because of the EOL of the Product, but it’s not the product, it’s the adobe cloud that won’t work. The cloud app shows the CS6.0 programs. Only the activation don’t work.
I don’t want technical support, or an security update or an feature update or product support. I want to use my programs out of the box like i have bought them. What is the value of Adobe’s license terms?
I never wanted an creative cloud or an customer account. Adobe forced this. The consequence was a spam flood for my mailbox.
Thank’s for reading this. I don’t care any longer, like the customers support. I’ve finished.

Christophe, I am sorry, but if you have exceeded the amount of allowable activations, then you will need to find a new solution to your creative needs in 2025.
The only way to reclaim an activation is to deactivate it on a previous computer. Please see the section titled, "What is required to successfully deactivate my Adobe desktop software?" in https://adobe.ly/414oo9p for information on how to accomplish this. ^JW

if you can reactivate cs5.5 on you computer that had an activation, you have another chance do deactivate it AFTER updating the os so that deactivation is communicated to adobe's servers.
