i have the adobe student plan where i pay around £16 (i think thats like $20) a month for a year, but i was wondering, will the plan keep going after the year? i do not want to keep paying after the year is up as i need to start saving up my money (and don't want to pay that cancellation fee ) and apparently the plan increases in price after the initial year.

After the 12 month introductory rate ends, you still receive a generous 40% student discount until you graduate or cancel, whichever comes first.

Just to add: Annual plans can be cancelled in the final month without cancellation fees.

Be very, very careful here, I just got caught out by this. I didn't know it was an annual plan when I signed up and the cancellation fees are horrendous. I'd advise you to go for alternatives. I also advise you to turn off auto renewal right now if you can.

You must be kidding right?  Where I went to school annual means 12 months.   Even an 8 year old can understand that.   See screenshot.

Nancy OShea answered one part, I will do with the second part:

Cancellation fees are half of the remaining dues, so they are not horrendous but well defined. If you take the annual prepaid subscription, you can cancel any time and use the product until the end of the subscription period. There will be no refund. However it will not renew when cancelled.

If you are on a monthly pay, you can cancel during your last month and the subscription will end.

In both cases (by month or prepaid) you will get a reminder well ahead that the renewal is imminent.

Switching off auto-renewal is not possible. It's like my mobile contract or other contracts I have: I need to cancel actively ...
