Another installer already running

When I originally downloaded PS Elements 13 and tried to run the installer, it would always crash - telling me that another installer was already running.  I had to download the files manually.  Now the software is trying to apply an update to version 13.1 and I am having the same problem - the installer tells me that another installer is already running.

I have rebooted my machine (running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64) in case another process was hanging around from a previous software update but this makes no difference.  Anyone got any suggestions?

check your running processes in task manager.

what do you mean by, "were"?

do you mean "where"?  (if so, right click>open file location - but be careful if you don't know what you're doing.)
