Been using CS2 on my G5 Power PC Mac

I have been using this old Mac G5 forever (running OS X 10.5). I have had CS2 for almost as long. It recently died and had to transfer the drive into my other machine of the same model and year and now CS2 won't work without activation. The serial number on the original package isn't accepted and Adobe has dropped the server to fix it. They say there is a process to uninstall and then install it for free and they sent me a link to the necessary page.

When I go to that page, the links look ok when I hover over them because my mouse arrow changes into a hand to indicate a link, but when I click it changes to a cursor and highlights the word like it is only text. It highlighted the word instead of performing a function. I tried it on 2 different browsers with the same result.

I paid a lot of money for these programs and I think there must be a way to not lose years of work I did on documents in Indesign, Photoshop, etc. I called them and even though they don't do phone support for CS2 they did politely try to help me by sending links to pages that don't seem to work. The hours spent on hold to get that non result discourages me from calling them any more.

Anyone have a solution or have I lost all these years of work? I'm retired now and a new machine and new versions are not an option.

Thanks

Download links often seem to do nothing, have you looked in your downloads folder?

Are you trying to download using your G5?

What internet browser are you using?

There are not many browsers for G5 era machines that work well with today's internet.

One that does work is TenFourFox

https://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

If you have a more modern mac or windows computer or a friend with a more modern computer, try that instead and then transfer the download to your G5.

I am able to download the files using TenFourFox on a 2001 Quicksilver G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.11.
