Can't install a thing...

Nov 29, 2018 Nov 29, 2018

Hi lads,

So... I've been having this problem recently. I've been thinking of getting some serious power to my photos editing - and so I decided to get myself an adobe LR Classic CC and Photoshop..

The thing is, the installation process is a hell incarnated.

What happens? What are the symptoms? Well... nothing happens. That's the problem.

I managed to install Creative Cloud desktop app(after a hell of a struggle). Which got stuck on update (it says that the app is already the latest version, so what is the reason for an update, huh?).

I did a workaround by switching off the automatic updates. Kind of worked.

When i tried to move on to setting up Lightroom and Photoshop... and here's the magic... Nothing happened. It got stuck on 1% and showed me metaphorical middle finger.

Yes, i tried using soultions from the rest of the threads(I've been doing all sorts of things since like... 5pm). Nothing helps. Tried the uninstall/clean couple of times with zero effect. Tried to do it on a clean virtual machine (with the same OS as mine with to effect).

A word on my setup:
Windows 8.1 (latest updates installed)

Help please... cause i'm on a brink of not-giving-a-damn-anymore...

ps, No, I don;t want Windows 10.

Hi, I kind of solved it.

1) Killed any single process that might have interfere. Including antivirus software and windows update.

2) Deleted and cleared adobe stuff with Your apps.

3) Installed Creative Cloud and turned off auto updates.

4) Downloaded PS and LR installers from Adobe webpage.

From what I see in the logs some processes got stuck, like in the following example:

11/29/18 21:05:05:571 | [INFO] | 4252 | HDSetup | HDSetup | AppContext |  | HDSetup | 5720 | ************************* START Ad

Then i just kill the app (but update precesses are still running in the background and have to be killed manually.

As for this point it works more or less fine.
