For some reason when i try to install, via creative cloud, other versions of any application, it automatically tries to install it in a different location than the one i set in the creative cloud>preferences>applications>installation folder. right now is set to my "N" ssd drive, but for some reason i get error 189: no disk space. When i open the logs:

Exit Code: 189
-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
 - 2 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 7 warnings(s)

FATAL: Total size required for installation is '9121491311' bytes, but only '4016881664' bytes are available on the installation drive D:\
FATAL: Error occurred in install product workflow with error code 189 error message 9121491311#@#4016881664

WARN: GetIEProxyInfo - Failed to get proxy for the url, error:12180

but the point is, why is it trying to install it on this "D" drive? this is my Google Drive sync folder, and if i close the google drive application (which makes the D drive dissappear) and try to install the app again, i get another error, 176: can't install on a network drive. And this is the log:

Exit Code: 176
-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
 - 2 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 7 warnings(s)

FATAL: Can't install to a network location

WHY is it trying to install on a network drive and NOT in the folder i set up? please help!!!!

It means what it says. Something has messed up your system's proxy settings, be that a VPN or another security thing/ setting. You need to reset the configuration and try again.

Everything adobe says about fixing this error 176 is "you're trying to install on a network device. Choose another installation folder" But i didn't choose this folder, my preferences are set up to install everything on my N ssd drive. You can't manually choose where to install a previous version of adobe apps, so how am i supposed to change the installation folder?

Hi there,

We appreciate you writing in. Creative Cloud allows installing only the latest two versions of the Adobe applications. Assuming you're following that, did you follow the steps listed in these articles?

Error 189

Error 176

Let us know.

Regards,

Shivangi

i did follow. but first, i didnt choose to install it on the drive that has low disk space. and secondly, error 176 says to change the installation location, how am i supossed to do that? there's no option for that when trying to install other versions. i dont know how and why it is trying to install it on this network drive, i dont even know what that is, that is not the folder i set up.

click the pencil icon in the image you attached to your previous message. that should allow you to change install locations.

using a removable drive requires special care to ensure the drive's formatting is compatible with adobe cc.  (formatting is esp problematic for mac users.)
