Hello,
I'm trying to cancel my free trial on the creative cloud subbscription, however all the answers to my questions say to do this via the 'manage plan' options, this does not appear under any of my plans, only the choice to 'view plan' or 'upgrade plan.' Please tell me how I can cancel...

It looks like you signed up for the subscription using a different Adobe ID (email address) to the one used to post on the forum.
Please sign out and sign in again using the correct Adobe ID. You will then have the option to cancel.

Just to be clear, a FREE trial expires automatically after 7 days. You do not need to provide a credit card when you join as a free trial memeber. Did you use a credit card? If not, there is nothing to cancel.
