Conflicting versions of indesign and premiere pro

Since the last CC updates, I now have two versions of Premiere Pro and Indesign on my computer. This seems to be creating multiple conflicts when I try and open a file. What are the dangers of uninstalling the old versions?

Feel free to uninstall older versions. Just be aware that doing so may necessitate reinstalling the newer versions a second time.

The only drawback I've seen until now when uninstalling older versions was that the default app allocation was removed. But that was because I had installed older apps to check something after the latest version.

It's, however, easy to remove all and reinstall the latest if needed.
