Creative cloud 5.0.0.354 crashing

New Here ,
Oct 16, 2019 Oct 16, 2019

Hi

The new CC app keeps crashing every time I start it up

• I can't update my apps

• I can't logout of it, it crashes too quick

• I can't uninstall it as I still have photoshop, indesign etc on my mac

• I can't uninstall indesign, photoshop etc to enable me to uninstall the cc app, as it keeps crashing

so its a vicious circle - what do i do please?

Hi

You can use this tool to uninstall the CC app, you don't need to uninstall any of the applications like Photoshop or InDesign etc

Just follow the instructions

https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

Hi thanks for this. It didn't work. I have tried uninstalling three times then reinstalling. I got the CC App dmg from different places on the Adobe site.. but each file still installs version 5.0.0.354 - is this the latest version? When I look at the notifications bell symbol it appears to show that there is an update? It's still crashing every time I login

Hi GilesHicks,

The tools mentioned above cannot work since they are older than the latest version of CC Desktop (v5). However, this "new version" is merely a lightweight interface to this web page : https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop . So, if uninstalling from the Control Panel (I guess you're using Windows) doesn't work, just go to the page mentioned above and you should be able to update your apps. Actually, there's no "new version" of the CC Desktop app. The new Creative Cloud is just a mini app that opens a minimalist browser that brings you to that web page.

Note that the web thing doesn't seem to work that well today. Camera RAW no longer appears in the app list and I had to refresh it multiple times until it consented to list the apps installed on my system.

Oooops! There was a problem with that page in my browser (I should have a look at the cache). On the other hand, AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool is apparently the same as before.

Hi there thanks for this. I am on a Mac. I tried your download link. What this does is download a dmg file that you might think is the full installer. So you double click on this file expecting it to install but it opens up the cc desktop app window you refer to again which then crashes and won’t install anything. I have even wiped my whole Mac and done a clean install. I wonder if this is a current adobe problem? I probably shouldn’t have followed the cleaner advice as that has now removed my apps completely

Did you try the link I gave you above ? It's not a link to a dmg file but to a web page that is the exact replica of the new CC Desktop app (actually, things work reversely).

Hi yes thanks thats what I was saying above. I used your link, downloaded the apps I needed and they doenlaoded as dmg files. I double clicked on them but they just then open the mini browser window which means I am back to sqaure one

Hi everyone - i completely wiped the mac and rebuilt. This hasn't so,ved the issue. I can only assume its a MacBook pro touchbar issue, or an issue with Adobe itself. Does anyone know where I can download the previous adobe CC desktop app to enable me to get adobe apps downloaded onto my mac. I manage a team and we spend £14k a year on these apps its rather frustrating!

Not sure if you can get the previous CC app, but here's direct download links to the CC 2019 applications if that helps

Hi there thanks for this. I also tried this yesterday but it brings it's own problems. I Get error code 85 when trying to install. It says some backgriund app is running so it won't install. There isn't anything running. I also tried to download in another user on my mac with is an admin area that has nothing in it. Same error message 85. So I still can't get my apps downloaded that I pay good money for.
