Creative Cloud Desktop does not automatically update apps

In the Preferences for Creative Cloud Desktop, there are settings for each app to control auto-update. I've got auto-update turned on for all my Creative Cloud apps, but none of them get updates automatically. I receive multiple notifications on my Windows Desktop telling me that app updates are available- but why isn't Creative Cloud automatically updating them??
