Creative Cloud installer freezes during installation

Hi all. My Creative Cloud installer installer keeps freezing at 21.5% everytime I try to start it. It's fine before then. I followed the help advice and closed my antivirus software and turned off any firewalls, but it didnt seem to have any effect.

 

I even tried to download one of the programmes directly (Indesign) but that too has issues (I got error code 1).

 

This is a little frustrating as I need to do some very time-sensitive work, and figured installing Adobe software would be a simple process....

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
