Hello, I am a customer from Cape Town, South Africa. I am a full-time musician and am getting into video production to help push my music career by creating some video content.
I have been subscribed to CC for a while now, first starting on the single app subscription until a discount came for all the apps which I couldn't resist as I wanted to learn more applications. I probably spend 10 hours a month on these apps, but I can't do some work without them and I really believe in the product and want to support however I can, even though I make a loss from using the subscription (for now at least). I have roughly 700GB of footage that I need to back up as I am running out of harddrive space and can't budget for more drives at the moment.
I have little understanding of the CC pricing structure. It seems to be an abstract, thumb-sucked number. It's not that much if you're making a living off of photography, videography, etc, but the difference between single app and entire product range is illogical. However that is not my problem.
Look, I can't afford to pay an extra $9 for 1TB of storage. I pay so much of my low to moderate income on these products already, which is made for video professionals. I can't understand why, when I pay for every single application, I only have access to 100GB of storage. It's really nothing when it comes to video editors and the large projects we work with. I manage my file storage very well and don't keep needless files lying around, and even I have need for over 1TB of storage for my projects.
I just want to add my voice to the others who pay for this service. You must be aware that the majority of people who use your products have them illegally because the pricing plans are ridiculous and some people have no respect for other peoples work. Adobe is a huge company and a big part of the industry, and as a creative myself, I wouldn't want my work stolen (though as a musician, it often is) so I personally find piracy unethical and hypocritical if I expect others to pay for my work.
Surely there is a way that you can bring in the community to be more loyal instead of being held hostage to CC's subscription fee and occasional discounts? Every single person I know who pays for CC complains that they have been loyal for the entire duration and sales always go up to rope in new users but give nothing back to the people who pay every month, for years, months, irrelevant. The consumers who are not making decent incomes are not able to use and support these products without compromising their livelihoods. It's a shame, because access to this software is a means for a lot of people to break out of financial struggles by creating something they can sell. Most people in my country can't afford education and we teach ourselves skills to find careers in the creative industries. These monthly subscriptions are a barrier to entry for a lot of people to potentially overcome their bad socio-economic history.
I would personally prefer a pricing plan that takes into account the amount of hours I actually spend on the applications, because I can't justify what I am spending for the usage I get, and I make absolutely no money from my work at the moment. I want to support Adobe and I want to use the products even though there is much room for improvement in UX (also for another post).
I would just like my thought and the thoughts of others like me to be considered by the community and brought to the right ears at the right times so maybe there can be a discussion on alternatives to the current structure and as a means of bringing the illegal users into CC plans in a mutually beneficial way.
Regards,
Dokkodo

I don't rely on Creative Cloud storage much except when I'm collaborating with colleagues or moving between devices. To my mind, Creative Cloud storage is not a substitute for hard disks and external backups. These days, a 3-5 TB external is cheap

Any cloud service is more expensive that the corresponding local storage. I do not rely on cloud storage for backup, but for collaboration.
