Downloading only Photoshop

Guest

Hello  ^-^

I would love to know if I can simply download only Photoshop with the $10/month plan.

I neither need or want Lightroom, Spark, cloud storage, ect.  I gotta feeling i'm just gonna open each once, say "neat" and proceed to forget/ignore them forever.  And if i'm not gonna use something I want it and all its files yeeted the fudge off my precious and limited SSD space.

Not looking for a cheaper price or anything, I just want to download PS, use it offline, and not be forced or pestered to download a whole bunch of other stuff I do not want.  And if I do uninstall Lightroom, ect. is PS coming with it?  Will PS cease to work until I reinstall Lightroom or something?

And the $10/month plan is for one year, right?  And if I cancel before the end of it, i'm charged 50% of the remaining monthly fees?

Thanks for any help.

Hi

You don't need to install Lightroom, you can just install Photoshop from the CC app, you mention limited space on the SSD how limited is the space and how much RAM do you have installed.

Photoshop requires space for the scratch disk and depending on how large the files are you may end up getting an error in relation to the scratch disk been full.

Depending on the plan you take you will need to be online at least once every month for Adobe to check the validation of your subscription.

I have plenty of space (for now), but we all know how large programs can quickly add up, so i wanna limit my laptop to only what i really need and want.  As well as keep possible ad/malware to a minimum or at least easily traceable.  Not saying downloading PS from Adobe's own site is gonna come with anything bad, it's just a consistent habit of mine.

I have 12GB of RAM and only integrated Intel graphics, but I think that is plenty.  I am only a digital painter, i'm not gonna need much, if any, 3D capabilities.

The once a month validation is fine.  Many other programs do similar or even more, and I haven't had any issues so far.

Thank you!

Both correct... if you cancel during your final month there is no extra fee

If it will do what you want, there is a one time cost for Photoshop Elements

I didn't wanna go in without being sure.  I don't like the idea of renting software, but at least we won't have re-buy PS over and over again.

I plan (emphasis on plan) to use PS more than enough to easily justify $10/month and knowing i have the same software that most artists use.  No more looking for good free or cheap alternatives (ii've been looking for a couple months - i'm so over that) or installing several very large apps for different stages of creation.  Just PS and maybe Painter.

Thank you!  I've decided to buy.  Can't wait to see what i've been missing and looking forward to asking more questions, 'cause oh boy PS is a big boi with lots of stuff ^-^'.

You need only 3 apps:

  • Creative Cloud desktop app (from which you manage all your CC aplications)
  • Photoshop
  • Bridge (file manager)
  • If you take digital photos,  add Camera Raw.

Spark, Portfolio, Behance, Adobe fonts, Adobe Stock and Adobe Color are all online apps & services so there is nothing for you to download & install.  Simply launch them in your browser.  See screenshot of Creative Cloud desktop app.
