Which software was used to create your manuscript originally and why don't you have the native file?

Hi I used Word and I don’t know why I have lost the original or native file. I have checked everywhere and searched with finder.

I contacted Microsoft and they suggested I download Adobe and I have purchased. I have converted to word but font changes in places and I can’t backspace in some areas.

Think of your original document as a cake mix... you may mix, add liquid and even other flavorings
As soon as you put your mix in the oven, you no longer have a mix, you have a finished product... here, that is a PDF
It is very difficult to convert a PDF back to an original document... and often does not work all that well

Oh then it was a waste of money to purchase Adobe as suggested by Microsoft. Thanks for the response

Hi Bev,
How did you create the PDF? Look in File > Properties > Description and you can see the software that created the PDF. Post a screenshot.
Some choices might include: Microsoft Word, Quartz, PDFMaker, Distiller.
If the PDF was not made by Adobe, then that’s where the problem is when you convert it to Word.
Also, what settings did you select to export to Word? Post a screen shot of your settings.
