Qwertjohnson did you pause the download or face stability difficulties with your Internet connection?  Error 201 indicates that the download of the installation files was unable to be resumed successfully.  I would recommend utilizing a different Internet connection.  If you are connected via WiFi try a wired connection.  If you are connected via a wired connection then please try a different cable.

As I encountered this issue too and because this is the first post to show up in my Google search, I want to thank Jeff A Wrightfor the answer.  I use a WatchGuard Firewall connected to my computer by wired Ethernet.   I have access to another network over WIFI which is not protected by the WatchGuard firewall.   Switching to this alternate network allowed my download to complete.  Apparently I have something configured on my WatchGuard firewall which is blocking Adobe CC downloads.

Thank you Jeff a Wright.

Error 201 while downloading the creative cloud.

MAC

1) If you are using the wi-fi connection try with wired connection.

2) Delete the OOBE folders from both the location of HD.

3) Run the cc cleaner to uninstall the creative cloud and if its first time you can skip this step

4) Give Permissions to Adobe Folders and restart the system and download the cc again.

It worked for me .

I am experiencing the same error code and download issues for my Creative Cloud Team licenses. I am working in an enterprise environment and my IT staff has opened all Internet traffic ports. We have an extremely stable connection, but receive this error on all five computers trying to access the team account. Three of the computers are iMacs, one is a MacPro, and the remaining is a Windows-based PC. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

If you have not solved this yet check with the person that manages your firewall and make sure they are not blocking downloads. We have Meraki and it blocks the download causing this error. Out Network Engineer unblocks the downloads and it works fine. Once the install is done you can re-secure your network and block downloads.

And also, check that the computer is not connected to 2 routers/modems at the same time (Ethernet and WiFi).

It has the same effect on Creative Cloud Desktop Manager.

I had this same problem and nothing worked at all.

But then I disabled the internet filter. You know the thing that blocks porn and stuff, and if worked great.

I too am having the same problem.  I am getting Error 201 every time I run the installer for the desktop app for CC.

I have tried the follow:

- Ran the Adobe Cloud Cleaner tool  but did not clean the Adobe ID

- Deleted the OPM.db file

-Checked the firewall

-Changed to not use proxey servers

Is the internet filter in the browser.  I'm running firefox and could'nt find that.

I'm not running on a managed network.  Home network but hard wired into router.

The message that pops up when the installer is trying to connect to Adobe is :

We have encountered the following issues:

There seems to be a problem with the download process.  Visit support page (error code: 201).

I have downloaded it 3 times.

Thanks

Snickyt0123 did you check the firewall settings and utilize the guidance in the referenced documentation to configure the settings for both your hardware and software firewall configuration?  It is likely your router contains a firewall as well.

What errors did you discover in the download log?

The link to how locate your download logs as well as documentation for your firewall configuration is located in message #4 of this discussion.

HI... I finally fixed after much digging. There was a proxy server setting under the Lan setting under the Network folder (Windows 7). Once I changed that I was able to connect. Thanks for your help.

Can you please explain in more detail what you did? We are having the same problem. We are in a print and design shop environment and I need this to work for our business to function.

I attempted to uninstall Creative Cloud, I tried the fix tool, I allowed all Adobe programs to go through firewalls. Nothing is working. Absolutely nothing works.

OMG THANK YOU! After 2 days of messing with java, deleting folders from libraries, moving my Mac to another room so I could connect it to the modem with ethernet and generally banging my head against the wall, this was it!
It would be good if Apple and Adobe played nice together. Both parties had to know this was a Yosemite default and people would have trouble with it because it was so buried.
