After reading through the many many discussion posts here referring to Adobe silently charging peoples accounts, this is obviously an issue that is ongoing and has affected many different people. I paid $285 last July 2017, for a years student membership of Adobe Creative Cloud. I did not expect Adobe to deduct $527 from my bank account the following July 2018. I find it highly unethical and unacceptable for Adobe to think they can take my money from my account WITHOUT my confirmation or my consent. I did not want to continue my membership, and I should be able to make that choice BEFORE they take my money.
After speaking with Ruchi in an online chat service on the Adobe website, he firstly informed me that they would not be able to refund me this money as they only refund within the first 14 days of purchase. I'm not sure when they are counting these 14 days to be, but they deducted the money from my account today so logically would they not count the 14 days from today? Regardless of this, Adobe could never justify to me why they can take my $527 when I will not be continuing to use their products or services. If you take my money and I get nothing in return you are effectively robbing me.
Adobe, maybe you should start recognising your customers are not just memberships and dollar signs. We are real people with real lives. When you took $527 without my consent, you took my ENTIRE payslip that I spent the past week working for. You took my rent. You took my food. In the end, Ruchi told me that I will be refunded and I should expect that in 5-7 working days. Naturally I wanted a written confirmation of this refund that I should be expecting, or am I supposed to just take his word for it? Adobe could NOT provide me with a written confirmation that I would be refunded $527, and the most I got was an email saying my account had been cancelled and I quote:
"If you are due a refund it will be processed shortly."
At least I have a transcript of the chat, and at least I have this public forum to tell everyone out there that they should NOT trust Adobe to look out for you. I hope I get refunded, but regardless I will still be penniless for the next week.
