Getting Non-genuine Adobe pop-up even after removing all Adobe programs

Hi guys,

I'm really hoping someone can help me out because this whole pop up thing is driving me mad as noone at Adobe seems to know how the hell to remove it and I keep getting shuffled from chat agent to chat agent!

Background: I bought my laptop second hand off a friend, who told me it had an old version of Adobe Suite on it. I do not want to subscribe to get it again I simply want to delete it all and get rid of the pop up.

About a month ago I started getting the genuine software pop up, so after speaking to about 7 different agents on the live chat I used the Adobe CC Cleaner tool and deleted all Adobe applications and files off my computer as rather than subscribing I just want to delete everything and decide at a later date if I can justify the monthly fee for an application I use perhaps once or twice a month.

Just to reiterate I have deleted ALL Adobe software off my computer yet I am STILL getting the pop up! However many times I delete all Adobe apps/files the folder AdobeGCData remains and I continue to get the pop up. PEASE HELP!

I've split this off to its own thread as your problem isn't really the same as the earlier one. I hope you get an answer: sounds pretty frustrating!

OK.  So you bought a used computer that had cracked/pirated/bogus Adobe software on it.  By the sound of things, it has other malware on it, too.  Time to format C.  Re-install your operating system + all updates followed by good anti-virus/firewall and legitmate software.

Good luck!
